нарека́ · nareká
to name, to call, to dedicate, or to foretell fate
The meaning within the name
Narecha takes its name from the Bulgarian verb family of нарека́ (nareká). The name follows the stem нареч-, heard in forms such as нарече́м (narechém).
Its South Slavic lineage reaches back to the Proto-Slavic narekti—from na- and rekti, “to speak or say”—and the related narokъ, meaning intention, designation, or name.
Together, this ancient word family connects speech and naming with dedication and fate.

United States · Bulgaria · Spain

I am a first-generation Bulgarian American, raised between Bulgaria and the United States.
My grandparents always kept the Bulgarian culture alive through timeless traditions, a language whose sounds made me smile, food that always tasted like home, and folklore filled with stars and fate— especially the story of the орисници (orisnitsi).
Three women said to sit where the world meets the sky and speak each new life’s destiny. Across South Slavic and neighboring Balkan traditions, related figures are known by names including narechnitsi, sudjenitsi, and ursitoare.
Our family’s story reached outward from Bulgaria to the United States and Spain— across different countries and languages, yet always connected by where it began.
Narecha grew where these worlds met— somewhere between inheritance and discovery, between the stories handed down to us and the meanings we uncover for ourselves.
Inspired by ancestral memory, Narecha was created to transcend borders, languages, and generations—
A way of looking toward the sky and finding something of ourselves reflected there.
